Bronchial asthma: modern methods of treatment and diagnosis
More than 300 million people in the world suffer from bronchial asthma, a disease of immune-allergic origin (according to WHO data). In Ukraine, the problem is no less acute: the statistics of the Association of Allergologists of Ukraine suggests that more than 3 million people in the country have asthma: the incidence among children increases annually by 2%. In order to successfully treat bronchial asthma, it is important to diagnose the disease in a timely manner and select the appropriate treatment in each individual case.
What is the danger of asthma
Often, bronchial asthma is preceded by prolonged allergic reactions, to which a person does not pay attention, underestimating the severity of the consequences. Often, parents of children with allergies do not pay attention and do not lead the child to an allergist, being sure that he will “outgrow”. However, constant contact with allergens leads to chronic inflammatory processes in the respiratory organs, then bronchial obstruction may develop, during which the air flow rate is limited and a person suffers a suffocation attack.
In bronchial asthma, such attacks occur at different intervals, but even in remission, when a person is not bothered by anything, the inflammatory process in the respiratory organs remains. Initially, bronchial asthma does not cause general disturbances in the human body. But if you do not take any measures, then over time there are problems – primarily with the respiratory system and the cardiovascular system, not to mention the danger of attacks of breathlessness.
Diagnosis of bronchial asthma
Initially, to diagnose bronchial asthma, you can contact a pulmonologist, in the future for the successful treatment of the disease also need the help of an allergist (immunologist), a nutritionist. It is important to determine the severity of the disease, therefore, conducting research such as spirometry (to assess the degree of obstruction of the lungs), conducting allergic tests, blood tests, sputum, study of the immune status. It is also possible that the doctor will prescribe an ECG, bronchoscopy or radiography of the lungs, etc. After diagnosing and understanding the general picture of the patient’s condition, the doctor will suggest the appropriate therapy.
Modern treatment of bronchial asthma
In order to achieve successful results in the fight against bronchial asthma, if necessary, drug treatment of the patient, it is important to strive in the future to reduce the dose of the drug. Before modern and alternative methods of treatment of the disease appeared in Ukraine, hormone therapy was used in the treatment of severe asthma. Many patients, especially parents of children with asthma, refuse treatment because they are afraid of hormonal drugs. But medicine does not stand still, and modern methods of treatment of bronchial asthma use a comprehensive approach to the effects on the patient’s body, alternative non-hormonal means of treating the disease have appeared.
First of all, it is important to identify the allergen, to stop contact with it, then it is important to clean and normalize the functions of the excretory systems, blood, lymph vessels, etc. It is also important to follow a specially selected elimination diet that will help cleanse the body. The earlier diagnosed bronchial asthma, the less affected the body and the more successful the results of treatment. It is important to choose a well-proven clinic and rely on professionals.
