Is it necessary to treat herpes: the effect of infection on the human body

How dangerous is herpes, because most people consider it a normal fever on the lips. This infection is very common: 95% of adults and about 50% of children on Earth are infected with the herpes virus. “Settling” once in the human body, the herpes virus remains in it forever and it is impossible to completely get rid of it. But it is possible and necessary to treat the recurrence of the disease, because herpes not only spoils the quality of our life, but also negatively affects the entire body.
How the herpes virus behaves in the body
Herpes simplex virus type I and type II cause herpes sores on the mucous membranes (lips, eyelids, palate, nose, genitals), face, lower back, buttocks. As soon as the herpes virus enters the body, it will remain there forever, localized in the ganglia. Anyone can become infected with the herpes virus: the source of the infection can be dishes, clothing — any household object used by a person with a recurrent herpes. Herpes can also be easily picked up through kissing, having sex, shaking hands, etc.

Herpes in the body can not manifest at all for a long time. But, as soon as the body’s defenses are reduced, the herpes immediately “declares” itself blistering painful rashes on the skin or mucous membrane. May cause a relapse of herpes:

– stressful situations
– hypothermia or cold, ARVI
– menstruation or menopause
– overwork and lack of sleep
– frequent drinking and smoking
– frequent sauna
What is dangerous for herpes man
The herpes virus is especially dangerous for pregnant women and their future babies: a herpetic infection can cause miscarriages, as well as affect the brain of the fetus. A future baby may be infected with a virus from the mother by the placental route, during childbirth or through breast milk. The virus is dangerous for the unborn child if the mother contracted herpes during pregnancy or had a relapse of the disease.

For adults, herpes is dangerous because it can provoke neuropsychiatric disorders. Also, the herpes virus is often confused with urethritis or prostatitis, persistent, untreated recurrences of herpes can lead to infertility. Not to mention the fact that the herpes rash causes discomfort, it looks aesthetically unpleasant, and with genital herpes during sex, you risk infecting your partner.
What not to do with the recurrence of herpes
With a latent form (not active) and the absence of rashes, you can live a familiar life and do everything. And with the exacerbation of herpes infection can not:
– have sex: you can infect a partner, even if you use contraceptives
– touch, comb rashes, and even more so, then touch the eyes, skin, mouth
– in case of rashes on the lips – to kiss (especially children), to use common dishes, to take lipstick or to use the cigarette “just once to drag on”
If you have a recurrence of herpes, then try to strictly follow the rules of personal hygiene, wash your hands, if you have touched a herpes rash, apply drugs to the lesions of the skin of the hands.
When and how to treat herpes
If a woman is planning a pregnancy, then it is important to get tested for the presence of the herpes virus in the body. But, even if you already had recurrences of herpes and you got pregnant, then there is no tragedy. The danger for the future baby is and requires immediate treatment only an acute form of infection, in which fragments of the active virus were detected in a blood test.

If you have constant colds accompanied by herpetic eruptions, it often hurts, aches and burns in the lumbar region – then of course you need to undergo treatment. The herpes virus first of all “strikes” in our immunity, that is why it is so important to strengthen it. Also, if herpes affects the eyes, genitals, internal organs or systems – the liver, nervous system, etc., the virus must be treated.

Modern medicines provide an opportunity to effectively suppress herpes infection, reduce the number of rashes and significantly improve the quality of life of people suffering from herpes. If the rash is rare and you just noticed its appearance, then the use of healing ointments in the place of formation of rashes will help to quickly remove them or speed up the healing process. Depending on the localization of herpetic eruptions and damage to organs or body systems, an expert is also selected. This may be a therapist, an immunologist, a gynecologist or andrologist, a urologist, a dermatologist, etc.
